Happy New Year!

Hello again my friends! Happy New Year! I am so happy to be sitting at my keyboard blogging again, it has been far too long since my last post!

Toward the middle of last year things got really hectic, I moved and the kids started a new school. This might not seem like a big deal but it was enough to throw my whole free time schedule out of whack which left little toΒ  no time to knit or blog. However, I would like to believe that this is all behind me know. With the start of the New Year I’d like to get back in the swing of crafting and blogging about my projects and other tidbits of my otherwise mundane life. πŸ™‚

Like last year I would like to start off the New Year by posting what my “goals” are for this year and taking a moment to reflect on my goals for last year too. Last year my goals were to finish up WIP’s and to have no more than 3 projects on the needles at all times. I would like to think that I have achieved this goal. I started off 2014 with only 3 projects in progress and 2 of them are socks (another is a Christmas present that I am still working on). πŸ™‚

Last night I finished up a pair of socks for my daughter that had been in the works since October. So even on the last day of the year I was still whipping up WIPs πŸ˜€

Tiny little feet!

These are the socks I finished up New Year’s Eve. I let my daughter stay up until 10pm so I could get her to model them when they were finished. LOL

As for my goal to learn to sew, well… that one didn’t happen. To be completely fair though I did try to sew a bag but my sewing machine hates me and I can’t seem to get it threaded let alone sew anything! And the goal about blogging well I made an effort but clearly need to devote more time towards it! πŸ™‚

Now for 2014 Goals:

  1. Refresh my stash! Now this doesn’t mean that I am going to go on a wild yarn shopping spree (although that does sound delightful!) What I mean here is that I really want to use up quite a bit of the stash I have (mostly acrylics) and slowly replace it with better yarns (natural fibers).
  2. Learn a new craft. This can be anything from sewing to spinning to food art.
  3. Whatever I do have fun! Too many times this year I found myself gritting my teeth to finish a project because my goal was to finish all things!Β

I would love to hear what your goals are for 2014. I hope everyone has had a safe and happy holiday!
